Can’t believe this cruise is coming to an end but here it is our last day on the ship so time to get packed and ready to leave but enjoy the last moments of this trip too. As we left the port of lucca the captain warned that we would be heading into some storms that night and the next day. It was pretty rocky that night and the next morning. It was Sunday so we got up in time for mass at 8 am and then had a nice breakfast in the Dining room. We went up to do our last Sudoku challenge in the Crow’s Nest but it was difficult to focus with the ship moving so much. We had two chances at Bingo but although coming close we never did win a game. Maybe next cruise. We also spent some time in the casino but no real luck this day for me. John did win again at Blackjack so was ahead for the cruise. We spent some time getting packed since the bags would need to go out that night and we had an evening tour.

By early afternoon the ship was sailing close to the coast of spain and the waves have calmed down considerably. We docked close to the 6 pm scheduled time and met in the Showroom for our Panoramic Tour of Barcelona. Well there had been a note in our cabin the night before indicating that due to the time of year it was getting dark earlier so they changed the name of the tour to Panoramic Barcelona at night. We drove thru the city with the guide pointing out almost everything (including the post office). Some of the buildings and statues were very interesting including the two houses they showed us by Gaudi. They’re not my style but I thought they were interesting and pretty in an ugly sort of way. We made a stop at the church of La Sagrada Familia designed by Gaudi but still not near completion. It was still light out but they would be lighting the church at 8 pm so we had free time to walk around it until then.

We then drove up Montjuïc Mountain for a view of the city at night and past the Olympic sites. It was a very quick overview to Barcelona but since this was the only chance for us to see any of it with an early flight the next day we took it.
