Fag break outsideAt Razzmatazz after Kyles and I got bored of the music at one point.
Sunday 15 June 2008 Tasha and Drew came round to drop off a plant at our's and we went to the Japanese buffet down the road for lunch. The waitress accidentally spilled Drew's coke on him, to which he responded by jumping up rather abruptly and looking like he was going to hit someone. Funny for us, not for him.
Monday 16 June 2008 I only had 2 people in my evening class today - the women. And one of them kept taking phone calls during the class. But I had a kit-kat as a prize for the activity, so at least someone left happy...
Tuesday 17 June 2008 I did Message In A Bottle (The Police) in my afternoon class today - they found it soooo difficult! Oh dear...
Wednesday 18 June 2008 Raj came to Barcelona for Sonar festival with a bunch of people so met them for drinks at Margarita Blue. Was good to catch up after so long (6 years apparently), even though he was pretty pissed. They decided to go to some club so Kyles an I walked them there, but when we arrived they said they wouldn't be open for another 30
minutes. So we chilled in the plaza with some beers and finally saw them off. The metro had stopped running by this point so I ended up walking home, which was nice.
Thursday 19 June 2008 Was meant to meet up with Raj outside of Razzmatazz to drink rum, but by the time I was ready to head out, it was past midnight and being a Thursday, the metro had stopped running! So got a taxi down to Kyles' hostel and we walked around for a bit trying to find a taxi - mission:impossible. Ended up joining her mates at the Travel Bar who were going to Razzmatazz as well, and we all walked down the road to find some taxis. Eventually managed to get there, where the sweet stench of Barcelona sewage was wafting past our nostrils. Nice. However Kyles did manage to buy a ticket off some people for EUR 10 (instead of 15) so score! Once inside, managed to find Raj and his crew and proceeded to explore the hidden treasures of the club with Kyles and at one point Khalil. It's huge! Music was OK. Definitely better than most of the clubs I've been to
GarrafIt was beautiful with the rocky bits
so far in Barca.
Getting home was a bit of a mission, as there were no taxis about! Eventually managed to find one down one of the side streets, and told him I had to stop off at a cash point to get some moolah out. Went to the Caixa Catalunya down the road from the flat but there was a tramp sleeping in it and he'd locked the door, so couldn't get in. Bloody eejit, pissed me off. So had to find another cash point, which I did, but when I tried to get EUR 10 out, it said only multiples of EUR 50 could be taken out! So I had to take out fifty frickin euros! Dagnamit...
Friday 20 June 2008 Abso-frickin-lutely knackered today, but still decided to head to Garraf with Kyles. Alex figured it probably wasn't a good idea for him to go with his sunburn and everything, so I went down with Kyles for the afternoon. It was nice there with the rocky bits and we parked in a little cove. The water was freezing! Busier than I thought it would be, and there were fag butts everywhere, but nice all the same. Ended
up leaving at 8ish, trying to figure out which platform we needed to be on, and waiting about an hour for the bloody train. But managed to get back feeling tired yet refreshed. Kyles said she preferred Garraf, but I can't make up my mind - think Sitges might be that much nicer for me.
Saturday 21 June 2008 Had to go to Mercadona for our weekly food shop. It's almost as annoying as shopping at Sainsbury's on a Saturday, but at least they have baskets with wheels. Although back in London we drove to the supermarket so we could get a trolley of food instead. Hmmm....
Tasha said there was a reggae beach party so I went down with her and Ruth to Ciutadella where we tried to find it, but the bar seemed to be playing the football and there weren't many people! So we sat for a bit before wandering further down the beach and finding another bar with a DJ who started playing some reggae. We were cheapskates and sat in front of the bar on the beach so we could hear the music but didn't have to buy a drink. A couple of Tasha's mates joined us, whom I later found out had come to Sonar with Raj. Small world!
