Hello all!
Well, I made it through exam week! It was a rough go... and I´m really glad to have that done for a few days. I have one exam this coming week and then three the following week. Before you know it, I´ll be heading back to the states!
I don´t have much news to report because the week was so full of classes and studying. However, I´ve been enjoying Salamanca a bit the last couple days. A lady that lives in my apartment building took me to a concert last night. It was a really neat deal... it was outdoors and the stage was on the front steps of this old convent. It was beautiful! I don´t have my camera with me to show a picture of exactly what it looked like lit up at night, but I found this pic online of the building. Imagine it dark outside and the front of the facade all lit with this amazing blue color. It was incredible. The guy was a jazz saxophone player. It outdid the indy jazz fest because of the environment alone! Anyway, it was a neat deal, and probably something I wouldn´t have been able
!!!El Parque!!!!Imagine me lying on one of these benches reading a book! It´s my daily hangout after class!
to see if it wasn´t for my neighbor with an extra ticket. It was full of all local people!
Today I went to the massive flea-market on the south side of the city near the river. It was interesting. Lots and lots of stolen goods being sold for cheap prices... but there were also some artisians and some really neat stuff from Africa there. It was fun to walk around and just take in the sites. I just got back from the park. There is a beautiful park here near my house to which I have become a regular visitor! I just love to hang out in the shade there and read a book in the early afternoon! There is a beautiful fountain, and neat benches to relax on. I found a pic of this online too! I´m going home shortly to have some more eyeballs.. or whatever she makes for lunch! :) It really has been decent food. Just a couple horror story moments!
I hope you are all enjoying nice weekends back home! Read the Sunday paper for me... do the sudoku puzzle... I´m in withdrawl! I try to read the paper here, but it just isn´t the same! :)
