Hola Familia from Toledo, Spain.
We have finally caught our breath from the amazing Pamplona scence and are now looking to our last leg of this wonderful holiday. A quick note: if you have not checked in for a couple of days you may want to read our last blog. it is here that we describe the events that took place in Pamplona for the Running of the Bulls
This morning Kat and I are headed by train from Madrid to Avila. From there got our car and started on the Southwestern portion of Espana.
Since we have some time, I would like to answer some of the questions that have ya´ll have posted so far. Also, we are limited on time so we have posted the pictures through Barcelona. We will post Pamplona and the rest of the trip as soon as possible. Enjoy:
· why this is called "The Hemingway Adventure", please explain. - Ernest Hemingway wrote ¨The Sun Also Rises¨which made the Bull Run in Pamplona famous. I recently read the book and found it quite enjoyable.
· how do you know if you are getting good gas prices over there? -
We have a hybrid vehicle so we are saving a lot on that aspect. Gas isn´t too bad, though.
· have you learned a new money system? - this hasn´t been too difficult. Everything here is done by the Euro system.....right now, 1 Euro = about 1.5 dollars
· Is the weather cool? I noticed Tim had on his jacket? - In some places it is hot...in others it is not.
· One last question - are the sheets on the beds in the hostel clean? For the most part, yes. When we check into the hostel they usually give us sheets and a pillowcase that are clean and folded. From here we trek to our room and make our beds.
· Tim don't you think hostels are creepy? I saw a naked guy running down a hall once when I was over there. - Well, lizzy, we´ve seen naked people in the streets. One dude was naked with a backpack and flipflops. His wanker was distgusting. I asked a cop if it was cool by saying ¨No pantelones, no problemo?¨ he shrugged his shoulders and responded ¨No pantelones, no problemo.¨ We all got a good
laugh out of that one ;)
Can´t wait to see ya´ll. Miss you much and look forward to seeing you all soon.
Love, Cheese and Black Eye Peas,
Tim and Kat
