We did as the locals do and had a nice long sleep in. The sun had come out so we decided we’d spend the day at the beach. We gathered a day pack and hit the supermarket to buy supplies. We headed to the surf beach and set up camp. We threw fifteeny around, went swimming, read our books and generally just chilled out. We were all shocked to see old men using the beach as some sort of naked catwalk. Each of them were sitting by themselves but felt it was necessary to walk down the front of the beach in front of everyone. Gross.
A group of local guys were doing flips and acrobatics on the beach, one guy was amazing, make sure you check out the videos. I think we were watching them when all of a sudden the tide came up. We just saw it in time and moved our stuff. Others weren’t so fortunate and we watched a lady in total shock as she got soaked, along with all her stuff. Some of us laughed, I’m not telling if I did or not. The tide kept coming up and up so we decided to turn
it into a game of chicken, the loser being the first to move. I technically won as I was probably last up, but then I was technically a loser as well as I dropped my t-shirt and it got soaked.
After a lot of sun we thought we’d go check our emails. We ended up watching an hour or so of Flight of the Concords video clips, those guys are awesome. We also watched some Superbad ones, Jez does a spot on McLovin impression, I’m not sure if that’s something to be proud of or not.
We managed to get to the supermarket just before it closed and purchased a few large bottles of 99 cent sangria. We walked across the bay and checked out these big sculptures they have sticking out from rocks near the shore. We sat and looked out over the bay once again watching the sunset. The clouds were crazy and one looked like a big speech bubble coming out of the Jesus statues mouth on the other side of the bay. As we walked back the air was still and there were still puddles of water on the beach. It allowed us to
get some good photos using the reflections in the puddles.
That night we had a relatively quiet one, just listening to music, looking at some of Brent’s photos on his computer and supping on sangria. We took it pretty easy as we had a long day of travelling ahead, next stop - Paris.

Hi Ryan,
I read your comment about San Sebastian and felt to point something about nudity in our beaches. It is totally legal to do nudity in all the beaches of San Sebastian, as well as in the small beach of Santa Clara island. We -locals- donīt have any problem with it, because you can go nude or not. So, I donīt see why you were "shocked" of seeing a man nude on the beach. Freedom rights are high in Spain, Basque Country and in San Sebastian, so I aware you that nudity doesnīt "shock" in our city. And I hope you enjoyed your stay in Donostia.
I hope some day you -kiwis and americans- find a more liberal way of living life.
