the Spanish Conquest
Tim Tucker So, we survived the run. Well....actually, nobody ran...Katherine and Bobby tried to run but the crowd was too large so the Spanish Cops started beating people with their battons forcing hundreds to leave the street and watch from the side. One friend of ours, "Boston" (thats what we called him), His leg was wacked once and within 10 minutes it was black and blue. However, he still managed to run. We were able to get tickets yesterday to a bullfight. Although it was a good lesson on Spanish culture, it was quite disturbing to watch. After watching 3 bulls get slowly tortuted and finally killed (Alison, Kat and Bobby stayed for all 6) Tim decided he did not want to support the events (basically the bulls doing the "bull run" will be killed this evening in another "bullfight"...aka...animal torture cermony) so he and Alison found a good spot to watch the run. Around 3.00am this morning we all decided we had enough of the fiesta so we found a nice spot in the park to rest our eyes for a couple of hours. Tim caught someone trying to rob the people sleeping nearbyand started to yell at
him. Boston then jumped up and chased the "roberro" robber away while shouting "get the hell out of here, robber" in Spanish. After that Tim and Boston sat on the bench and thwarted a total of 7 people from attempting to mug our group or the groups nearbye. Meanwhile, Alison, Katherine and Bobby layed on their bed of plastic bags (40 or so layed out to keep them from getting wet from the dew) and dreamed of the fun day ahead.
We all woke up a couple of hours later and headed for the run and...well you know how that went already. If you´d like to read a news link about the day check out this cite:

If you happen to read the above cite, note that Katherine witnessed it when the man was thrown into air.
Alison and Bobby and Us split up this afternoon. It was a sad departure. We all had a great time.
Tonight we are in San Sabastian. We have showered and been to a couple of tapas bars and are heading back to the room. This is a beautiful city with friendly people. We should have some more pictures
up for you very soon.
Love To Everyone,
Tim and Kat

Thanks for sharing all the wonderful pictures! They are beautiful. I wish I was there with ya'll. I hope you plan to be spectators only during the running of the bulls! Don't get a wild hair and decide you can outrun them. Please do not allow Bobby D. to do this, okay? Be safe and have a wonderful time. Love and blessings, Aunt Jane
HEY TIMMY AND KATA!! So this is the first time I have even been on here and it took me over an hour to go through everything! I am in Gulf Shores for the holiday.. I even went to Biolxi to the Beau Rivage Casino!! hah! I will have to tell you about it later. But on Tuesday it was a four hour drive and when I drive I usually pass the time by catching up on all of my sisters...... well it seemed EVERYONE WAS OUT OF THE COUNTRY! Mom even quit picking up my phone calls! hehe! The pictures look so great and I love yall are going to all the little treasure towns than big tourists places, it seems to be more adventurous and exciting! I am jealous yall are over there and I hope nobody has any horns in your hinnys! I got to talk to Bec from Mexico today..... thanks for buying a European phone guys! Tim don't you think hostels are creepy? I saw a naked guy running down a hall once when I was over there.... ew... Kata probably just LOVES it so she can meet new foreign people! hah! Well I am glad yall are having a fabulous time.... some updates: 1. Mom did wear her collared 4th of July shirt. 2. Paris is out of jail. 3. I had Pizza Hut for lunch and McDonalds for dinner... p.s. Kata i hope you rest your feet every night bc I know how your ankles ("cankles") can get!
Hi- I don't understand why this is called "The Hemingway Adventure", please explain. Your pictures are gorgeous, they look professional. I am glad you commented that Tim was making a "pirate" face, I thought the barnacles were just tough and he couldn't chew them! How do you know if you are getting good gas prices over there? Have you learned a new money system? I LOVED Tim and friends! Is the weather cool? I noticed Tim had on his jacket? The picture of the little flowers in the valley in Los Picos de Europa is beautiful. The cathedrals keep getting more and more beautiful. One last question - are the sheets on the beds in the hostel clean? Love and miss ya'll, Nana
On Saturday, ya'll run fast! I really enjoy this "TravelBlog" thing.
Hi Bull Runners, You know that I am not very computer-savvy, so I think I have been writing you in the wrong place. Oh, well I hope you have received my notes anyway. Love the pictures - makes me want to go there. Everything is fine here. Petry is having a ball and we are spoiling him rotten! We had a quiet Fourth and ate ribs with Paul and Barbara's family - yum. We are going home today and to Atlanta tomorrow (Saturday) to take Bella and Petry back.
Love to all, Mom Flowers
