SO...I have been a little tired lately. Maybe a little worn out so I took most of the day easy. I did go out walking for a while. Did some exploring, napping, all that good stuff. Where I am staying they were going to have a dinner SO what the heck right?
First, I was trying to nap before getting ready... there was a lot of noise outside. I knew they were setting stuff outside this town hall the night before and today so I figured that it had something to do with that. I turn on the TV, I was right. They were broadcasting from the town hall almost like a Christmas pagent but for the Reyes. It was raining out so I was glad I wasnīt there but I could watch it on TV.
SO I got ready. It was a gala event which was interesting for me to watch them execute their banquet. Being the single girl, I was at a table by my lonesome. Which was fine. I was watching everything going on. So the meal. To begin was an app in a tiny cup...a broth with some greens and a little piece of lobster meat. Then there was a cod salad. The next one....I only ate the cucumbers...octopus...yeah its okay I didnīt need to eat tentacles. After that was dorado...really good fish! After that was beef sirloin with a side of some fruit stuff. Then dessert was tiramisu with a nougat ice cream. That was SO good. The tiramisu was okay...not what I am used to. No coffee in the cake or anything. The cream was different like a pudding or bavarian cream. BUT I liked it :) Later towards the end of the night they brought out a riscon...a traditional item for this day. It was like a coffee cake but with whipped cream in the center. Then it had a cup of chocolate on the side. very good meal!!
After dessert I didnīt really feel like staying up much later, although there was dancing to follow. I had intended to go up to bed. BUT there was this group of four: three ladies and a gentleman...in their 60īs who invited me over and we were talking. Afterwards..they got me to dance, and stay up until after 3.
It was a lot of fun. The other people there were really nice too! It was a wide range of people...me being the youngest, the oldest in their 70īs I would say...with everything in between. Lots of dancing! They were excited to dance. The funniest part...dare I say it. They played the Spanish version of Achy Breaky Heart and they also played Ïts not unusual....how fun!
These older people were all siblings so it was just an immense amount of fun. We were able to communicate very well. Then there was couple, probably in their 30īs or 40īs. She was fun and chatted with me after.
This was the latest I have stayed up! Needless to say...I was tired!!!!!
