Hi friends & family, Ola from Seville in Spain - we arrived yesterday & weather hasn´t been great but nevertheless have managed to see most of the sights.Seville is your typical Spanish city with beautiful avenues lined with orange trees, terraced houses, beautiful churches etc. Anyway won´t bore you with all the details.We´ve just been on a tour of the bull-fighting ring, one of the most famous in Spain.Very interesting & has prepared us for watching a fight tonight - we´ve bought tickets.Not sure if I´m so keen to witness something so gruesome but Kris is looking forward to it - [View Full Entry]

After being cold in Madrid, we were really excited to head south to Sevilla. We went to the Atocha train station and bought high speed train (AVE) tickets to Sevilla. We met a nice couple from San Francisco that we chatted with on the 2 ½ hour ride. Upon arriving, we got a map at the tourist information center and asked how to get to the center of town. Soo... Tuesday, my birthday was great. After school we went home and had paella for lunch with sangría that María José got for my bday. Lunch was delicious and then for dessert we had this cake that was like 2 layers of white cake with some kind of cream in the middle and nuts around the outside that señora bought in a store. As I have been far to busy sitting in the sun and watching TV on my laptop to document my spring break #1 travels, I have decided to first blog about my parents' visit since that is much fresher in my mind. Spain - Sevilla Monday 31st March - Tuesday 1st April Again, sorry for the post with no photos - this website still has issues with uploding them which is getting kinda frustrating. We caught the AVE High Speed train from Madrid to Seville. After our amazing excursion through Morocco, our spring break was still not over! We decided to spend the last 4 days of break in Sevilla, since we were already there. Sevilla is a lot smaller than Barcelona, and the people seem a little bit more laid back and relaxed. And it is a beautiful town, with cute little streets and hardly any cars. RURAL FIELD TRIP! A couple Saturdays ago we went on a school trip to Aracena , which is very hilly and rural. It is famous for its ham... and we definitely saw lots of little piggies looking idyllic in the countryside. We also saw donkeys, goats, and sheep. We went on a 5 km. hike picking flowers and having sheepdogs growl at us anytime we tried to take a picture of their beloved flock. The little pueblo had lots of dogs running around, they were watching from their rooftops. We called our favorite the velveteen dog.. he was so funny!! In [View Full Entry]

heyy! it has been awhile since i´ve updated my blog... so i guess today is the day. well, last week was semana santa (holy week) in Spain, and i was here all week because Ella is in Sevilla! semana santa was interesting to see, but got verrry repetitive by the end of the week. each church has a procession with a float that is over 500 years old and it´s amazing how many people walk in each procession. each church wears a different color "tunic" and there is music and candles... lots of tradition. it was fun to see, but impossible [View Full Entry]
