So we left Lagos and headed for Seville, Spain. Well arrived after a 4 hour busride we took a cab down to the old part of Seville. We quickly found a really nice, little guesthouse with alot of cool arabic/spanish stuff inside. It almost fealt like living there in older days, cause the house was a typical old spanish house, with an open courtyard in the center of the building. Adding to the picture was also the smell, since there was a tapas bar on groundfloor, from which there was a constant flow of exotic smells!
A sidenote would be the way our cabdriver navigated the very narrow streets in the old part of Seville. He drove pretty fast/confident in streets that hardly could squeze down a car, turning down streets/alleys the seemed to be dead ends but eventually in the end he found a way out of the maze. He did hit a lot of curves thou. Anyway, we got there save and sound and that evening we went out for tapas/redwine and a stroll around the historical center.
Next day we walked around Seville and saw lots of cool buildings including the old palace and cathedral. After a day of touristing the city we opted for a flamenco-show at night. One word to describe flamenco the best would be INTENSE!! Wow, flamenco dance/music sure is something different but we were very well intertained for the 2 hours the show lasted.
For the ones who dont know what tapas is, tapa is just "a small plate of food", but when we talk about tapas-culture there´s no simple explanation. Spanish people cook food in ways you wouldn´t think of. Most of it is good, but some of it will maybe disgust you. In most bars(tapas-bars if you will, cause usually if u buy a drink you get a small tapa with it. Or you can order a specefic tapa) hang dried/cured, salted pig legs out in the open. With hooves, skin and everything. Typically they will have one laying on the bardesk ready to be sliced up for the customers. But it is always good to try new things..
