We have been in Sevilla for 2 nights now, tonight will be our 3rd and final night. The weather has been decidedly agreeable, low 20's during the day and mostly sunny.
Much like Madrid, most of the action and interesting things to see is within walking distance of the centre of the city. After a couple days, we are starting to get okay at finding our way around these crazy winding roads, but the handheld GPS has saved our bacon twice already (thanks again to all!!). My sense of direction is terrible, so that little gadget is proving very very helpful. Went on a brief walking tour with an american woman for 5 euro, it was worth it, she made sure we saw the highlights. Unfortunately I had misplaced my camera and didn't get any pictures that day. So, this entry will be a little spartan for pictures.
There are a few pictures of the outside of the Cathedral, it is the 3rd largest in the world, and we had intended to go see it today, but slept and mucked about too much. I'm a little disappointed to miss seeing it, but last night was a great over the
top party with some people we met here. We started out at a great outdoor drinking area where everyone goes to one of 3 places for drinks and then just ambles around the square. After that, we went to a flamenco place and drank sangria, lots and lots of sangria. I don't think anyone was up before noon, and I didn't feel like myself for quite a few hours. Oh well, self inflicted pain, at least I didn't have to go to work today! ;p When I finally did get up (1:20 lol) all I wanted was to eat some food, and after a much needed shower I rolled out the door and wanted something, anything, simple and now. So I did the evil and went to rotten ronnies (mcdonalds) for cheeseburgers. It was nasty, but I didn't care and was in no mood to find a place and try to decipher a menu. "Tres hamberguesas con queso y coke pequena por favor" was hard enough to string together!
Just sitting in our hostel having a glass of wine, and getting the blog out. We are going to head for Morocco tomorrow, and need to catch a bus to
Tarifa, from there we can get a boat to Tangier. Bus it at 9:00 am, so we are going to take it easy(ish) tonight. Some of our fellow travellers are going dancing around midnight, but I think we are going to have to take a pass on that, getting up at 7:00 will be tough enough.
Next stop, Africa! (yeah, I know it's not exactly deepest darkest Africa, but it is Africa)
