This morning after a quick breakfast, I loaded the last of my things in my bag and said good bye to my makeshift home. When I checked out, the security guy/breakfast guy said bye to me. He and I got along good...Se llama Marcos. A few days ago Jon sent me pictures of the snow. I showed him one of the pictures because it doesn´t snow there. He really liked that. So I got on the Metro, then to the train station. I left at 9:35ish and got to Malaga at about 12:30. I enjoyed the train. No idea what it equates to in English BUT 260 kH/H. Yeah exactly. I took a short walk with my stuff to Malaga Centro where I will be for the next few days. I have a tour tomorrow...well more ... read more

I went up to Madrid for an orientation for all the Exchange Students in Spain. It was Awesome! I met all the other exchange students. The only bad thing about it is amost all the exchange students are American. There is a girl from Brazil, a girl from Sweeden, and like 3 Canadians. Then there are like 30 something Americans. And that sucked alottt! I wanted there to be alot of different countries represented but there are like 4..... But other than that everything was awesome! We all toured the city and stuff. Then the 6 hour bus ride home sucked. The next day I had my first day of school. It was good. My host dad Paco drove me on his moped which I love! It was my first time. School is fun. I am ... read more

I woke up 9118 in the U.S. knowing by the next day I will be in Málaga. Before leaving I went out with my sister for beakfast and just hung out. It was nice. Then came the hard part. We all left for the air port, but I left little notes hidden around my house for my family to find. We packed all my things in the car and left my house. The car ride was very bitter sweet. I wanted to leave but I wanted every moment with my family I had left. We finally got to the airport and checked all my stuff in. One of the ladys working there was very intrested in my jacket. (The Rotary makes you wear this jacket, and when you meet an exchange student they give you their ... read more

Set wake up call for 7am. Grabbed latte' and headed to deck for breakfast. Afterwards, back to room to gather things for our day in Malaga, Spain, birthplace of Picasso. Ken and I are visiting the small village of Mijas. We take a 45 minute ride through scenic pine-clad hills to this picturesque village. It is located in the foothills of the Sierra Mountains. The views are spectacular as you look towards the Mediterranean sea. A small narrow road winds us past little whitewashed houses with red tile roofs everywhere. It's a bit foggy because of the drizzle, but occasionally the sun peaks through. We arrive in Mijas and explore the village on foot, although we could have taken a donkey. There are about 10 of them for hire and they all are going: "hee haw, ... read more

so due to our experience (and just fyi, now i generally use this word when referring to something bad, just so i can get in a little more sarcasm haha) in málaga, i thought it was worth a new entry even though it has not been a week yet. and it wasn't all bad, and if i can say this: to anyone who I am sending this to and is female, if you are ever feeling bad about yourself, go to spain. read on, you will understand. so friday cameron oddone ( I MISS YOU ALREADY AND HOPE YOU READ THIS) and I left for málaga. cameron is a friend of mine from high school and is studying abroad this semester in salamanca. so cameron had to catch the 7am bus from salamanca to madrid (sorry ... read more

this bright eyes' song best describes the flight and waiting for one of my brothers of different parents in malaga's airport. So there is this woman and she was on an airplane, and she's flying to meet her fiancé, sailing high above the largest ocean on planet earth, and she was seated next to this man, who, you know, she had tried to start conversations, and only, really the only thing she did heard him say was just to order his Bloody Mary. And she's sitting there, and she's reading this really arduous magazine article about this third world country, that she couldn't even pronounce the name of, and she's feeling very bored and very despondent, and then uh, suddenly, there's this huge mechanical failure and one of the engines gave up, and they started just ... read more

Jeg ... read more
