City beach from the walkwayCity beach from the walkwayCity beach from the walkway

City beach is much like all the Cadiz beachs only smaller. Just across the road from it (in the center of the picture) is one of the largest trees I have seen. It is a fiscus rubiginosa moraceao which is mative to Australia ( I read the sign)
July 27
One of the problems with a vacation in a beach town is that the days are somewhat the same. While this makes for a somewhat boring blog it makes for an enjoyable and restful vacation. So we did what we did yesterday - breakfast, beach, beach bar and early siesta. Then we took the bus downtown and decided to walk the part of the waterfront we had not already seen before. Between the extremely hot weather, lack of shade and the construction it was a not very interesting walk but it was very very hot . When we arrived at the city beach we discovered that there was a walkway out to an island that many years ago was used to quarantine plague victims. The site is closed for renovations but the view from the walkway is great. City beach, fishing boats, and one of the biggest trees I have every seen.

By the time we took the bus got back to the hotel I felt overheated and needed fluids and a rest in a cool room. Jim recovered faster than I did so he went to the beach while I had a nap. Thanks to strong sunscreen

The island was were they sent people who had the plague and eventually it has built up with fortifications. It is being renovated as a historical site. This picture was taken from just beside the beach and you can see the harbour for the small fishing boats
(60) we did not have sunburn.
