Lake BledTime spent around Lake Bled before the storm hit!
Hello again, I do appoligize for my lack in blogging, things have been full on over the last month and it's finally catch up time so bare with me please! Now where were we...Ahhh arriving in Slovenia yes I remember now! We arrived in Ljubljana on a sunday despite my guide book warning that Slovenia dies on sundays...I think to myself, ah my book is a bit dated and has been known to be wrong surely it's not that bad! Well Slovenia was dead! Luckily for us we got the last two beds in the hostel after getting refused from another, the catch, no pillows, no blanket, no cupboard just a sponge on a board! That'll do!! Exploring the capital city on a sunday was creepy...ghost town in a capital city is odd. The following day we ended up using Ljubljana as a base to explore the lake area and visit the town of Bled. What a magnificent day around the lake with the swans, up until this freak storm of monsterous thunder and marble raindrops turn hail hit! We realized just then how long it'd been since we'd had rain let alone a storm! Only a few days in Slovenia
but fascinating all the same.
Off now to Salzburg, Austria where the hills come alive!!!For anyone who didn't know I have this still present childhood love for the musical "The sound of Music!" Salzburg being the home of the Von Trapp family, turned me into a 7 year old girl again!! I was able to sing all the wonderful songs whilst riding a bike (with a basket of course!) through Salzburg visiting all the highlights of the film! Having watched the movie in the hostel the night before helped Malka appreciate my beautiful singning all the more...Thanks for putting up with me that day and further more joining in on my childhood memories! I won't go on further for those who can appreciate it will recognize the photos!
Well at this point in our journey comes an interresting twist...sadly as Malka's time in Europe was coming to an end we had to decide where we wanted to spend our last few days...Going back to Slovenia...on one afternoon while enjoying a pint, we sparked up an idea...let's go to Dublin! Yup dublin Ireland, after consulting the coin, which confirmed our brilliant plan, a flight was booked and four days
I am sixteen!going on seventeen! This gazeebowas filled with fun and love!!!
later we flew, Salzburg to Dublin! It was the perfect place to meet people go out, enjoy some night life and take in the past two months of travel for Malka and me! Of course no proper visit to Dublin is complete without a visit to the Guinness brewery we enjoyed our first taste and a few more pints that night!
Saying goodbye to Malka was not an easy task and I want to thank her from the bottom of my heart for all the wonderful adventures we shared, it hasn't been the same since you left. Goodluck in your studies, and remember once you're a teacher you'll have all the summer holidays to come and join me!!
I miss you all
