ZHODNOTENIE Maroko ma prijemne prekvapilo. Cakal som slabsiu Indiu (bordel, spina, otravny ludia) ale nic take sa nekonalo. V mestach zvacsa cisto, fajn ludia. Na dedinach trocha bordelu ale fakt len trocha, nieco ako u nas, ludia tiez v pohode, ziadny doterny, i ked sem tam neake detsko chcelo peniaze, bonbon. Zjednavat som ani nezjednaval, nebolo preco, davali mi rovnake ceny ako domacim (myslim jedlo). Videl som vsetko co som chcel, teda ak vynecham futbal. Alkohol sa ... read more

Chcel som ist niekde do tepla a exotiky. Nakoniec volim trasu bratislava-girona, cakacka cca ... read more

We arrived in Bratislava and after a hearty breakfast we got off the boat to visit the synagogue and other sights. We boarded trams for a tour of the city. We learned that before WWII Bratislava had been the biggest Jewish community in Slovakia. The Slovakian government paid the Germans the sum of 1000 Reichs per Jew to exterminate them. The Catholic priest who lead this and drank tea with Hitler was hanged at the end of the War. Independence has happened twice in Slovakia’s history. In 1918 Slovakia split from the Austro-Hungarian Empire and then again in 1993 Slovakia split from the Czech Republic. In 1948 it was taken over by the Soviet Union and in 1968 the Soviet army invaded against Alexander Dubcec. However, as an independent nation in 2002 Slovakia joined NATO and ... read more

ZHODNOTENIE Rodinny vylet dopadol dobre. Nasi nevyhlasili celostatne patranie,uz vraj k tomu boli nastartovany, davali mi tusim este hodinu, ked som meskal hodinu a nedalo sa mi v lese dovolat vdaka mojmu debilnemu mobilu. Jedlo vynikajuce, pivo tiez. Hlavne breznak mi moc chutil i ked uz patri do skupiny heinekenu (t.j. zachvilu bude chutit jak stanka ale zatial ho vraj vyrabaju podla povodnej receptury a v povodnom pivovare) Mikulov - velmi pekne mesto s fajn namestickom a zamkom. V buducnosti sa tu isto este zastavim. Znojmo - mesto duchov. Najst neake jedlo takmer nemozne. (cas od soboty po 13/00 hod). Stare mesto inak velmi pekne. Podzemie uplna bomba, jednoznacne odporucam ... read more

Wow, what a trip. So many pictures sum it up quite well but you can also read on :) (sorry, it is only one blog entry and therefore quite long). We went to Slovakia by car and stayed in Horny Smokovec in the High Tatra Mountains. We arrived in the evening, and it was foggy and rainy. When we passed the Polish/Slovakian border, the street was suddenly very wide and no cars around except a jeep that was behind us for quite some time. I have to admit the situation was a little bit spooky ;) The mountains were covered in clouds. On the first day the weather did not change: still a lot of clouds and some rain. So we went to Strbske Pleso to see the lake and the ski jumping hills. We climbed ... read more

Nasleduje kontaktovanie ubytiek ci nam zmensia cenu. Z troch suhlasili dve ubytka. Dos... read more

Well, we can’t complain about being bored today! We had every terrain imaginable. We left Gyor after a very close study of the instructions to get out of the city – right here, left there, left at the railway, straight for 200m, turn left, etc, etc. We went out of town with three friendly Irish who sang Irish songs with gusto for several kilometres until we encountered some rough surfaces. The first roads off the cycle trail were appalling with ruts, broken asphalt, humps and generally a bumpy surface through a pretty run down village with narrow houses and funny little mounds which were likely cellars or cool rooms made of soil over a structure. The gardens and orchards were large so they were obviously used to producing their own food. From here we biked through ... read more

It’s still raining! The temperatures have plummeted and we set off today in steady rain with raincoats and hoods on which is such a change from last week. We headed out early to see the Heidentor monument which is a large ruin of a triumphal arch in honour of the Emperor Constantius the 2nd. Only two columns are now standing and the central column which had a statue on the top. After leaving Petronell we called in at a small amphitheature at Bad Deutsch-Altenburg but didn’t spend time there as we had seen these structures before in bigger and better form. Work is still going on to reconstruct the site. We were very impressed with what these two towns have done to bring the Roman history alive in the area and it is well worth the ... read more

An early start today as I had to make it to catch the ferry to Bratislava. What a great way to begin the day. The boat ride took around an hour speeding down the Danube. It was amazing seeing all of the residences along the river. What it must be like to live by the river away from everyone. The weather, as it has been for the majority of this trip, is swelteringly hot. When I arrived I didn’t really have much of a plan. I had booked my bus back to Vienna at 8:30pm but the rest of the day was mine to enjoy. Outside the port there was a lady advertising for a castle and town tour for 10euros. The castle was at the top of a hill so I decided that in this ... read more
