It is very hard to describe how excited I felt as I stood in the middle of a massive arena surrounded by thousands of dancing people, flashing lights, neon lasers and massive speaker arrays with just a curtain of water separating us all from the best Trance DJ in the world! Before I forget to mention it, check out this video on the left if you have some spare time. Travelblog just recently added a video feature to the blogs so I thought I'd give it a shot. It might take a few minutes to load the video but I think it's worth it! :P
From the very start I could tell that this was going to be a night to remember. Jasper and I, late as usual, were meant to be meeting Morgan and a group of French guys at Sudbahnhof for the 17:12 train to Bratislava (The capital of Slovakia but only about 45 minutes from Vienna by train). We ended up taking the wrong exit from the Ubahn and had to run a good k before we finally arrived at the ticket counter at 17:09. We hurriedly bought our tickets and ran for the platform, totally forgetting
to ask whether Jasper needed a passport or not... He had his driving licence on him but we didn't know if it was enough. Luckily we jumped on the train 1 minute before it left and managed to find everyone. Our luck ran out however when we arrived in Bratislava and the customs officials told us that Jasper had to go back to Vienna to get his passport, and that no exceptions could be made. We tried to talk with them for a quite a while but they were having none of it. They said that there was a train returning to Vienna in 20 minutes and that he had to be on it. Seeing no way out we organised a meeting point for later that night and then left Jasper in the train station.
We caught a bus to the centre of town and had a quick feed with some other french people who were in Bratislava for the night. Then Morgan and I walked to the stadium where the Tiesto concert was being held. We were talking about how annoying it was that Jasper had to go back to Vienna when Morgan got a text msg saying
Waiting outsideMorgan making sure that Jasper was wide awake and ready for the concert!
I'm at the entrance right now, no kidding!
. Smiling to ourselves we continued on to the stadium and surely enough there was Jasper with some other exchange students he'd met. He had waited until the customs officials weren't looking and then walked slowly around to the other side of the train. Having a last look around he jumped a fence, ran through some bushes and ended up in some ruined buildings. From there he had wandered the suburbs of Bratislava for a bit before stumbling across a bus that luckily took him to the centre of town. :P
So it was with happy smiles that we all entered into the INCHEBA Expo Arena for what was to be one of my best nights out in Europe. There were two dj's before Tiesto and they played for 4 or 5 hours. Tom Snow and then Pete Brooks and I thought that they were both pretty good. Then around 1am Tiesto came on and the place went wild! Check out the video to see for yourself!
Jasper and I stayed a bit longer than everyone else and when we did finally leave at around 4am we headed for central Bratislava.
We met two Slovakian girls and they took us to a club but it was pretty boring so we left and made our way to the bus station... Took a bus to the train station and met up with the others 5 mins before the first train left for Vienna so worked out quite well. Luckily the customs officials didn't care too much about Jasper not having a passport and we got through fine. There weren't enough seats in our cabin so I ended up laying down on the luggage racks. Was quite comfortable actually and I drifted off to sleep waking up in Vienna at 6am. :P All in all it was a great night out filled with lots of excitement and drama which I am not likely to forget in a hurry!

Sounds like a great night mate. Although hanging out with international fugitives on the run from the law I cannot condone. Also a little surprised you had the time to go travelling, what with your hectic uni schedule and all:)
