The castle
You must see the three castles on top of Monte Titano
Today Mario made plans to take us to San Marino, which is a country on its own with its own flag and its own currency (well the cents are different from the euro cents) After shopping for groceries for dinner we headed off in two cars down the beautiful Rimini countryside to San Marino. San Marino is a little town and the main attraction there is the castle on top of Monte Titano(the highest mountain peak in San Marino). As it was almost christmas, there was a huge snowglobe with a scene of the nativity just outside the castle. Now we really had the christmassy feeling ( you know me, I'm a sucker for all this mooshy stuff!!)
After a lovely(albeit rainy) day in San Marino, we headed back to the house, where I made dinner, mutton curry & rice and chicken and pasta for Barbie who could not eat spicy. We met Mario's parents and a few of their friends that night(they were probably curious about these South Africans so dropped by to check us out!!). Tomorrow we have to leave again this time for Vincenza. The girls loved it here so much that they did not want to
leave and Kee was starting to stress about the mad rush for the trains, trolley bag lugging and million stair descending, but the trip has to continue, so tomorrow we leave... Barbie was so kind to drive us to the train station, help us buy our tickets and ensure our safe departure from Rimini. Thank you Mario, Barbie, Arturo and Agata...we love you all.
Keeran's edit: In the supermarket in Rimini we found a treasure...Nutella for 1euro(R11). In SA a smaller size bottle costs R35...I'm loving it!!!
PS, This time there were no stairs, but we still had to dash as the train was leaving in a few minutes.
