Good Evening!
Another work day done! The whole crew left around 7:30 am - including Shauna and Mikayla. They are all such eager beavers and are working like crazy with the rest of them - moving bricks, getting tiles off of the roof, cleaning up wood, painting gas-line pipes, and helping with children's ministry.
I got to go to the village Lodroman with two Romanian women and two kids (with very limited english!) to minister to them. Maria and Anna go to different homes, take women's blood pressure, and spend some time talking to them. What a neat experience! I had my trusty English/Romanian dictionary with me - and that made all the difference! There is just so much to tell! I got to hug little old, old ladies and cry with them. One had lost her alcoholic husband, two sons and a daughter in the past years, and I just hugged her, cried with her, and just loved them all. I was totally amazed how well we could communicate with such limited English and a dictionary! If there was a portion of the Bible that I thought would be an encouragement, I would just ask Maria to read
it in Romanian. We had such an amazing afternoon! I would just silently ask my Heavenly Father if there was anything that He wanted me to share, and things would often just come to mind. If nothing came to mind, I was just silent. He is EVER faithful! Often, the God that people imagine, is not the God of the Bible...and we got to share that over and over again. What a blessing!
Gerrit says, "Hi! I'm tired! This is hard work, but we're having a blast!" Short, but sweet like usual! Yes, that's my hubby!
Rochelle just puttses (sp??) around where ever. It is so nice that it is so safe for kids here! The playgroung equipment is set up at the school now, and there were many children playing already. What a joy! The schoolroom out house is soooo cute! It has stalls, but in one stall there is two little holes side by side (probably for little girls)! We just laughed and laughed!
Today is actually a holiday - the 1st of May - Mayday. We got served an authentic Romanian meal at lunch. It was delicious! They usually go to the green, green
hills and have a cook-out - but we had it on the grass where we were working.
Well, I guess that's it for now... It's been so much fun reading your responses! Thank you so much for your interest!
Love Jane
