Buna seara! (Good evening!)
We had such an interesting, full day! Els, Melissa and I, with Maria and Olympia (two Romanian ladies) went shopping for the ladies event. What an experience! A lot of actionary, some Dutch, some Romanian, and then throw some English in the mix... and we got it all figured! The long and the short of it is, we were able to spread a very attractive table of goodies for the ladies that came from three villages.
Many of the women here have very difficult lives... not only very poor, but are also often in abusive situations. They have never had a ladies event planned for them like this - with invitations and all. The ladies here that work with CAIRD had this all done before we came. Beautiful, beautiful women! It is really true what Romans 5 says - that tribulations build character! These women have humility, love, deep compassion for those around them, and are so selfless! Rita lives in the village of Lunca and has such a heart for the women and children there, and in the surrounding villages. She lives in a liitle house with no hot water, no bathroom, and no
shower. The whole women's event went over very well! It was very evident that hearts were touched. Thank you so much for praying! We have such a faithful Heavenly Father! Now we can pray that the words that were spoken by all will take root, and bring fruit! I so pray that these dear women would get to know this Friend of all friends! The only One who can be a help in all and any trouble!
The men have been working hard at the Center of Hope building in Medias building shelves, stairs, painting, upkeep projects, and getting supplies for all their construction (which as been very interesting to say the least!).
We're all majorly pumped for tomorrow - a good hard working day, groceries for the team, and children's ministry in the afternoon.
We are enjoying our time here so much! The team gets along so well!
We have so enjoyed all your responses to our blog... it brings home just a little closer!
Thanks to you all!
Jane... and all of us!
