I Almost Died and NOT From BUS 301! Remember I said you could get ANYTHING from that Spice Bazaar in Istanbul? Well, Turkey is known for its dates and figs...
they are to die for! Literally! OK, Denise, read the travel guide.
Be careful in Turkey...don't drink the water, beware of fruits and vegetables, and don't drink excessively. I obeyed 2 out of 3. I did purchase some dried fruit and enjoyed them once we returned to Bucharest.
They WERE to die for...24 hours later, I thought I was going to die. Doug and I think that's what we can trace the near death experience back to because he ate some and felt wheezy too. Mine was way past wheezy! You know, I should have known buying dried fruit in any place that sells leeches was not a good indication of things to come. Maybe I should have purchased leeches to go with the fruit!
So that's why 3 blog entries were posted today. After 48 hours pretty much in bed, I've arisen.
My flight leaves Bucharest at 6:50 a.m. tomorrow and arrives in Tulsa at 8:00 p.m.
For my praying brothers and sisters, your prayers are appreciated for my strength because what I got in Turkey is still very uncomfortable.
I'll blog one more time once I get into my nest in the
Good Old USA...my official message to my Brother Doug, who is a great host and a great big brother.
