Fomos "almoçar" ao shopping e fomos assinar a parede do Spranger's in the night. Enfim. Chegámos, fui comer um bitoque ... read more

Thursday April 28th, 2011 Atlantic Ocean East of Funchal, Madeira Latitude 32 degrees 42 minutes’ north- Longitude 16 degrees 02 minutes’ west Oh, the romance of it all. How can there be an island so fair and yet uninhabited and unclaimed until the 1400s? Sitting there about 500 miles off the coast of Africa is a lush, beautiful island that remained completely untouched until the Portuguese claimed it in 1419. It was mentioned in ancient Phoenician and Roman texts and yet no one had “claimed” it until a Portuguese sailor blown off course landed there and set the flag of the King of Portugal. No natives to subdue or abuse, just set up your colony and start from scratch. And for 600 years they have done just that. It is clean, well organized and quite nice. ... read more

Well I didn't know what 'Chavs' were until I became one.. Portugal can be summed up by sun, rosada vino, Super Bock and eventually some sweet site seeing. It was a bit of a ghost town where we were in Algarves. Lots of over development and heinous crimes against architecture - Sexy pastel 90s apartment complexes reminiscent of an ep from the original Beverley Hills 90210.. Silves was a bit more authentic and old school with narrow roads and cobblestones, and in Lagos we took a boat ride around the caves and secluded beaches which was cool. We went to Sevilla which is the fourth largest city of Spain, on our second to last day. I tried out my Espanol on a waiter but it was a bit of a fail. I'm keen to go back ... read more

No sec. Foi classificado ... read more

Da ... read more

Ein ... read more

We arrived to Lagos Portugal from Lisbon Portugal by bus on the 5th of April. We used the directions that hostel bookers gave us to find the hostel and somehow managed to get lost. In our defense, we were a bit tired and definitely in shock of how beautiful everything was. Thankfully the size of the town is very small so after we made a loop we figured out where we were and found our guest house. The guest house is located almost directly city center and is right off of a main street. Literally there is no sidewalk so if you step out of the front door without looking you could get squashed by locals driving fast along the one lane streets. We walked in to the guest house through a tiny door that was ... read more

Ecovia do Litoral We rode the Ecovia do Litoral last year and had a nasty experience on hybrid bikes each loaded with two panniers. Heading North West out of Alvor we started to skirt the limits of the river delta. Stupidly we followed the Ecovia signs down into the delta and ended up, after following a dirt track, at a small bridge that crosses a lock. The sign says “this way” so we ride over and progress onto the top of narrow dykes surrounded by loads of bird life. Both sides of the dykes are very steep, one leading down into sea mud and the other in fresh water mud. Unfortunately the dykes have been taken over by succulent plants and some type of bilberry scrub bushes. The first is slippery when ridden upon and ... read more

We arrived in lisbon, Portugal by bus from Porto. The bus took about 4 hours and was full of stinky sweaty people topped off by tiny seats which made even the best of friends uncomfortable sitting next to eachother. We finally arrived to the city and caught the Metro to the stop that led us to our hostel. When we arrived we realized the address of the hostel was about 10 feet from the exit to the metro but we were confused as to where the enterance was. We noticed where our hostel should be was actually a suvenier shop we looked a little closer and saw a sign that said hostel with letters that looked like they once said Kitch, the name of our hostel. We stumbled inside the gift shop and low and behold ... read more
