PORTUGAL!

So I'm totally doing this while I have 300 pages of spanish literature to read. woo!

PORTUGAL WAS AMAAZZZZZINGGG.
Thank goodness I made it to my flight.. I was out til 5 the night before, hitchhiked home from a garbageman (way safe actually and free! Its the new taxi) and somehow slept through my alarms at 7 and awoke at 9 (when I was supposed to LEAVE the house) and go to the airport for my 11:00 flight. And i was the first one there. yay!

Flight was great.. except Ryanair is pretty much the ghettoest airline ever and has commercial advertisments all over the inside. The taking off and landing were definitely experiences in themselves. Their motto is something like "The lowest cost airfare!" Id rather have an airline have a motto about comfort or safety but thats just me.

So it was Me, Wren, Jamie, Lauren, Evan, Dane and Adam. Way fun group, everyone was hilarious, I think it may have been the besttt times Ive had abroad so far!

We figured out how to work the train system there and trekked it to the hostel. The hostel was legit .. my first stay in a hostel. I think it was called Jordan's Shelter. Clean, free breakfast (best bread and cheese eevverr), dishware, shower... bunk beds. We all managed to get in the same room too so that was sweet (and we made great friends with Sam from South Africa! Our lil African.)

Hmmm so yea! it was a GREAT trip... the beach, the emptiness... so glad we went to porto. LOTS of porto wine tasting.. lots of fun.. lots of laugh... Lauren and I were talking about how we didnt realize how stressed we were til we got there. Madrid is such a big city.. always tons of people, noise, metros, a lil stress getting to school every day. Laying in the sun drinking a beer in portugal was EXACTLY what we needed. We saw lotsa cathedrals and cool sights, too... but the beach was probably the best ha and I just cant get over how much fun we had.

I dont think Ive ever played such an intense game of 10 fingers. Evan CLEARLY one. hardcore.

We went to the way top of the highest tower in portugal! the view was SO awesome... it was built in the 1700s...

We missed Spanish so much! It felt good to go home to Madrid... but it was the nicest vacay ever. more trips and good times to come!
