Tuck & Cherry! We don't care what you call us! Just call us and join our team!
Thursday brought another sunny and awesome work day. Our team has developed into cohesive subgroups that have learned to function more smoothly. Laughter is heard frequently, and our production is among the highest of any of the teams volunteering in Gliwice. Our interaction with the families is energizing as we daily work side by side to help them build their new flats.
The cultural experience that comes with this kind of trip adds a new level of appreciation for the many blessings we have in our own homes. We continue to be motivated to do the best we can, as quickly as we can, to make our time here more effective.
On the bus ride back to our hotel, we took a detour to visit the Gliwice Radio Tower, site of the initial incident that sparked WWII on August 31, 1939. Standing at this historical location, obviously being prepared for the 60th anniversary this month, reminded us of the sacrifices made by so many.
Thoughts & Impressions from the Team:
The cement carrying crew looks like ants in a row.
Supervisor Sam quotes: Day 1 - "Not Bad"; Day 2 - "Very Nice!"
Don't forget Mr. "Green Jeans!"
The Communist Bar near the river is right out of the '70s. Very interesting!
As the bars close at 3:00 a.m., you can hear singing in the streets through your open hotel window.
This is the best group of people I have ever worked with -- hard workers who have a lot of fun together!
Another beautiful day in Gliwice!
I really don't want to saw this block while it's between your legs!
Supervisor Sam quote: "I'm going to re-measure because we don't want it to be a crap job."
But of course!
Thunder root (lightning rod) at the Gliwice Radio Tower.
Damian: Is that Mari Wahna?
Work it, work it! (Note: Be sure to look at photos on page 2 of each blog.)

Just wanted to say we're all so proud of all the hard work you're all doing!! Keep up all the hard work and be safe! Love seeing the updates and by the looks of the photos ya'all are having a wonderful time!
Why is it so easy to mess up your names? I do that quite frequently when talking to Bill about you (all good stuff, of course) -- wow looks like you're all having a great trip & some lucky homeowners are benefitting from your generosity & caring, hard-working spirits!
No pictures of the salads for breakfast???? : )
Would you believe we had pancakes?! We did!!!
