Braving the Cold - My Walk

Mario was sick for about 5 days, so we stayed in a lot, that was fine by me as the heating was great, outside was mostly dull and it was totally dark by 4:30pm. However, one of those days was beautiful and clear, so I went for a walk outside, took my camera and... (have a look)

Snowflakes - Miracles of Beauty

I have experienced a bit of snow in Victoria, Australia when I was very young and a bit in Norway and Japan. But that was nothing compared to what I saw in Poland. People had to shovel snow from their driveways, special trucks ploughed the snow and spread salt on the roads, lakes were frozen. There is even an anti freeze detergent you have to use for your car windshield wipers reservoir so it does not freeze. One time Mario even had frost that appeared on his beard!
There was so much food during Christmas (and actually always at the Komsta household!), so outside, in the freezing temperature, is where they always keep food that doesn't fit in the fridge! Perfect!

A whole new world for me! Cool!

I was most amazed to discover the true beauty of snowflakes and fascinated by their uniqueness. I loved watching them fall and was excited to take photos of them.

Fun Snowflake Facts

Every snowflake has its own unique shape and no two are alike.

All snowflakes have six sides.

The world's largest snowflake was 38 cm wide and 20 cm thick and fell in the state of Montana in the United States of America.

Temperature, wind, and humidity effect the size and shape of snowflakes.

I taught at an English Kindergarten for two amazing years while admiring the glorious Mt Fuji and exploring Japan from Hokkaido to Okinawa and everywhere in between. I was lucky to meet Mario in Japan and now we are engaged and living in Spain. We have no idea what the future holds, but we’re sure it will be adventurous! ... full info
