Chris:
An 8am start again, tempered with the thought of coffee when we get to the school, and the longer coffee break after the first class. First of all we chatted with two kids, very good english from both of them, played the usual game... drawing numbers from the hat of doom. We have a numbers printed out from 1-32 on pieces of folded up paper. Each number then corresponds to a particular question on a sheet. Questions like, describe your best friend, name your favourite 3 things you like about your town, and describe a country you dislike and why (We removed this one as it could turn a bit nasty).
We then chatted with Adam, a PE teacher and basketball coach from the local school. Discussing wide range of topics including the Olympics, betting on tennis (Shems and I had a £20 bet on the Wimbledon final this year and lost, we bet that Roddick would beat Federer... he didn't) and went way over time. Afterwards we recorded english conversations for Adam. Cracked up quite a few times especially when attempting different voices, but got the job done in the end. In the evening we went out with
Stachu (Adams younger brother) to go 10 pin bowling.
It was a fun night out with couple of beers each and the most demented bowling pin recovery machine ever. Shems got the only legit strike... and got a bonus one too due to the insane machine. I scored 108 with two bowls still to go and then the sodding machine conked out completely.... total travesty. The kind lady who was running the place tried her best to get the thing fixed and at one point walking down the lane and tottered behind the pins on her stilletos. It was now more like 12 pin bowling with her legs and the pins down there. We were were finding this pretty amusing but eventually we all gave up and called it a day.
