The Buddenbrooks house

Always wanted to see the house of the Budenbrooks, the family acting in the novel of Thomas Mann.They where living in Luebeck the first stop on my trip via Germany, Poland, the Baltic States,Finland, Sweden,Denmark, Faroe islands and ending in Reykjavik.

Luebeck an beautiful old Hanseic city, an Unesco worldheritage site, with may renovated buildings,who where destroyed during the bombing on Palmsunday in 1942.The house of the Buddenbrooks actually the old familyhome of the Mannfamily and rebuilt as well in the old style.

I stayed in the Dom hotel a CVJM hotel in the centre of the old town.

In my previous life I worked for a more or less big company. Since about 8 years travelling is one of the things I try to do as much as possible. Every year I try to make at least one big trip by train. I did already the Orient expres route in normal trains, all the trains in Australia. Around Scandinavia and last year around UK.
