Hey everyone! Sorry for the super slowness of the blog...
We have the following updates to come soon:
- Photos for the last blog
- Blog from Zakopane: the mountains of Poland
- Blog from Krakow: Salt Mines, Castles and Auschwitz
Apologies for the lateness, but although we have net access from (home), the connection is too slow to upload pics, so we need to get to a cafe to get it all done. Plus we've been keeping our days quite full and busy, so spending the day on the pooter hasn't been possible.
Nemo is in the process of writing up all the details of our awesome trip to the south of the country, but it was an epic journey and it deserves an epic blog to match. We had a brilliant time traversing the mountains, slipping on snow and traipsing through castles that are centuries old. We've also enjoyed the hospitality of my cousin Kasia, her boyfriend Kazik, Kazik's mother and of course my uncle and aunt - Piotr and Ewa. They have fed us, chauffered us and even trusted us climbing mountains and as such have played a huge role in reminding us of the fact that Polish hospitality is some of the best around.
We're safe and well, back in Warsaw. We're now planning a couple of weeks of jetting about with family and meeting up with people we haven't seen yet. Lots to do and heaps of trips still planned. I have gotten my certification of Polish citizenship (yay!), so I can now apply for my Polish ID and then passport. The hardest part if over! Having said that, we've hit our first real patch of homesickness. Miss you all tons and heaps and lots. Listening to Crowded House today reminded us that no matter how far away we are and where I was born, Australia is a magic place that is with us no matter where we go.
All our love and till the next blog!
Aleks (and Nemo, sitting outside and reading)
