Well We've started. Fairly bumpy start to be honest. Ciaran overslept by an hour. As it turned out our flight was delayed by four hours anyway. However we did get to spend some quality time with the Irish rugby team and singing sensation George Murphy in the airport. We eventually made it to Krakow airport.
Ronan who is no longer allowed to talk to bus drivers ensured that we had to take the more expensive train into Krakow. The weather was beautiful and sunny. However the hardened backpackers that we are not soon began to whinge and bitch about the weight of our bags.
The hostel lived up to its 6 Euro a night price tag and has a kind of sparse "Homely" feel to it. (See Pictures Below). We are sharing with two french girls, Stephanie and Charlotte who think its hilarious that we like to have a beer in the evenings. Europeans????
We've spent the whole week trawling the city sights and we visted Auschwitz and Birkenau. The city is beautiful with lots of character and the the concentration camps were really sad but very interesting.
On Wednesday we took the day off (as you do)
and that evening we attempted to watch the Liverpool match, but ended up having a few beers instead. We stumbled across the cheesiest night club in Europe called "Showtime". Which basically was an over enegertic Polish woman singing karoke in English. Met some Poles with 2 irish guys who introduced us to their local tipple called sliwowica. Eventually we scared them away so we stumbled home singing show tunes.
Visited the salt mines just outside Krakow, did a 3 hour tour and finished with a pint at 125 metres underground. Next stop Prague.

Enjoy the trip. Cheers for the link. I LOVE showtime in Kracow. I spent several days/nights in there, actually went to a party with the staff after one especially boozy night.
Blog Site is great. Fantastic photos and great descriptions. Looking forward to reading more adventures. Suppose you know Roy Keane is new manager at Sunderland! Who would have thought.
HI Ciaran, sounds like you are having a great time. I'd love to be back leading a simpler life than this, spent few weeks trying to sort out an apartment, cars etc. Settling in nicely in London now though, looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Keep the blog up its great.
