I thought I would let the pictures of Norway mostly speak for themselves, but here is a brief bit on where I went in Norway.
I was able to spend about 10 days in Norway at the beginning of July. It is a beautiful country !! I was in Oslo, perhaps not a beautiful as Stockholm, but certainly a great city with an excellent atmosphere, I enjoyed it the most of the Scandanavian cities that I visited. After Oslo it was up to Lillehammer for a couple of days, some great hiking up there. Then to the most spectacular part of Norway, Oslo-Bergen and the fiords. I took the train about half way to Bergen and got off at Myrdal, from there is was a local train out to my hostel, which basically has it own train stop in the middle of nowhere (it is literally just a stop, no platform or anything, and then follow the trail down a few hundred yards to the hostel). It was a great hostel right on the river in the mountains, and they had a heated pool and a hot tub. One of my favorite days out hiking was here, I think I
can across about 4 people in 5 hours.
My next stop on my journey was back in Myrdall to take the scenic train down to Flam which is on the tip of the longest fiord in Norway. This is a beautiful area, although quite touristy as the cruise ships make a stop in Flam. From Flam this is a ferry to Bergen, this is great ferry ride, about 5 hours through the fiords and into Bergen, which is relly a gateway city to the fiords, lots of bars, restaurants and people about.
Norway would be the first Scandanavian country that I go back to, it is really great, lots to explore and lots a place to get out and get lost in the mountains, I loved it !!
