The BBQsI found these disposable BBQs really cool!
Last night I was invited by Stephy to a BBQ on Fløyen. Ten of us spent the evening playing games and grilling food in a park on the mountain. We played Frisbee, Botchee Ball, and a bit of football (soccer). Lars brought juggling balls and was giving me lessons. I saw about five different people juggle throughout the night, and decided that Norwegians must be born with natural juggling skills. I myself was not born with the talent, but I’m improving. I even had the chance to jump on a trampoline in the park.
They have these neat disposable grills in Europe. It is an aluminum pan with charcoal in it that has a metal covering to grill on. I had never seen anything like it before. Every one had brought food to cook, and the grills were covered in chicken, hot dogs, steaks, and ribs. It was quite the smorgasbord. For desert Lars put pieces of dark chocolate into bananas and put them on the grill to melt.
The sun went down about 10:45 and it began to get a bit cold. We decided to call it a night as most people had to get up and study
for exams this morning.
Other than that I really don’t have anything exciting to report this week. I have been working hard because we decided to completely redo my research project, as it was not yielding any results. I have been working on that since Tuesday and should hopefully finish today. I’m basically doing my entire semesters work in about three days! I hope this new project will have some results. I’m testing my first subjects today so we’ll see.
On a side note, I realized yesterday that our bathroom floors are heated. I was wondering why my feet were so warm when I got out of the shower! :)
Off to work a bit more on my study.
God Dag,
Allison
JugglingI tried out my juggling skills. I guess being only 1/8th Norwegians means I'm only 1/8th as good.

I was glad to see that you remembered that you are part Norwegian. But of course, I am 1/4 Norwegian, so when I get there, I'll show you my juggling skills. Grandma can really juggle well. Cool trampolines in the park - they remind me of the Utah neighbor trampolines. love, Dad xoxo
It looks to me like you are having too much fun, the weather is too nice, and you need your Grandma there to help care for you. If I can arrange it, I'll be on the next plane for Bergen.
Love, kisses and hugs,
Grandma S.
Looks like the Nories roll the ball uphill. I knew they were different! I can't juggle very good, too much Irish/English blood, I guess!
Love ya, Grandpa Sh.
Wow you sure can do an air borne split with grace ! Those grilled bananas with chocolate...I can deal with that. Good luck on the study change...bet it will work out great. Did you hear about Aaron's graduation ceremony was rained out ? It wasn't what we had hoped for but it worked out great too. Continue to enjoy this great adventure. xoxo
Maybe your irish genes give you the great trampoline skills?! Perhaps your mother will verufy when she tries them out in Norway.
BTW - please send a short desrciption of your research project and hypothesis so we are educated.xoxoxo
