The Tromso Trip was amazing, It started early Wednesday morning after a 1.5 hr sleep after a massive night at boogies. The adventure began with a 3 hour train trip to Brussels, we had 3 different trains to catch and the second one was delayed by 30 min so we missed our connection and by the time we got to the airport the check in was closed. We raced to the service desk and they gave us temp boarding passes but were definitely not confident of us making the flight. We bolted to security with our luggage we were meant to check in. So we lost a bunch of stuff at security including my leatherman. But after another massive sprint to what felt like the furthest gate possible we made it and the flight had been delayed by 30min, and we were off to the arctic.
We arrived pretty late so we just crashed and tried to catch up on some much needed sleep. The next day I went out and had a look around town and visited the tourist office. Later that day we went and booked a fishing trip for Saturday and picked up some hire bikes (free

On the way to Brussels with a $40 deposit.) We headed across the bridge and had a look at a very 70s cathedral where they charged entry, then we had a quick look at the cable car up the mountain and sussed out our midnight hike. After a quick recharge, dinner and a couple of drinks we set off again to hike the mountain and see the midnight sun.
The hike was really cool, pretty much straight up under the cable car with a little deviation around the cliff at the top. Once we were at the top the view of the midnight sun over the mountains was amazing. At the top of the cable car we also realized that the mountain went higher and decided we should keep climbing. We climbed to a big weather vane and put out names in the summit book. After taking a truckload of photos we started the climb back down. On the way down I may have led us onto a rather narrow and unused track that I thought looked like a short cut. It did turn out to be shorter, but also a lot steeper and more slippery than the normal track, but we made it

Fufilling a life long dream to ride the luggage belt the whole way round down uninjured albeit pretty dirty. After we got down and dropped the bikes back we were pretty buggered so it was finally time for bed at 3am.
Friday we woke up and went to the polar aquarium, it was pretty cool with some big fish that could definitely remove a finger in the touch pool. We also met Ida a Norwegian girl who worked there as a seal trainer, so we stayed a bit longer to watch her show. After looking at all the fish it was time to buy some fishing gear and have a go at catching some of our own down at the jetty. Some line, a hook, a sinker and a few prawns was all it took to catch a bunch of really quality fish off the jetty, especially after Reece climbed down and started fishing beneath the jetty. We went home and cooked up our fish dinner and had a few drinks before heading down to the pub. The pub was a really fun we met a whole bunch of Norwegians and one English bloke. Had a pretty weird evening in the end, we went back to the English blokes place with a few
people once the bar closed and had a few more drinks. I may or may not have got dressed in ski gear and later on been challenged to a banana eating competition.
Saturday we started pretty slow, but got moving and did the obligatory souvenir shopping, then it was time for our fishing trip on 100 year old wooden ship. The Captain told us the earlier trip had been awesome and so he thought we should do pretty well. Even though none of our fish were over 3-4kg we still had loads of hookups and a really fun time. After having some boiled fish on the boat we took our cod home and had second dinners before heading to bed because of our early flight the next day. I have to mention the other two boys little joke where they convinced me at 1am that it was time to go and I had slept through my alarm, bloody midnight sun. I didn’t realize till I was undressed and nearly in the shower.
The next day was pretty relaxed, we flew to Oslo where we parted with Choate. Reece and I walked around Oslo in the rain for a
bit, had a look at the palace and the Nobel peace centre, until we found a Maccas where we sat and watched Entourage to kill some time before our night train. We jumped on the train for the 22hr ride to Nijmegen.
