Within a 100m or so, he was. Today was a three church day. The first after a couple of kilometres at Tangen, the second at Stange, and the third a mere glimpse in the distance of the Glass Cathedral, a ruin that has been covered to preserve it. Only from a distance, it looks like any other large glasshouse. I only hope it lives up to its expectations tomorrow. After a short road stretch, it was into the sort of country that in Australia one might characterise as red-neck. I understand that people might want to see photos. I would love to, but this is the first internet machine I have been able to access since Oslo! That was now six days ago. It is a terminal, not a PC with the ability to download photos. The short blog entries are being done by my daughter from SMS texts. There was one night where that wasn't even possible, but if I can send text, that at least lets you know that I am alive and well (if a little footsore). Skøl Everyone!!! Wow...I LOVE Norway! It feels like home to me. We spent our first day of our tour in Lillehamer & toured the Olympic Ski Jump. We made a trip down the ski lift and watched the althetic young lads training on the hill. It was very funny to see this in the middle of summer. But the jump is covered in green plastic fringey stuff and they wet it down. They were jumping right beside us as we came down the lift. The Norwegians keep their homes and properties very neat and tidy! Very colorful. Some homes have tile roofs but there are still lots that have sod roofs. Darlene is concerned about picking her raspberries off the roof. Apparently, the roof does not rot - weird!!! Today we drove up over the mountains ... read more
It's December the 24th and the last thing I'm prepared to focus on, is Christmas eve! I'm too excited about my America trip, I hardly sleep at night! In 24 days I'll be heading for Houston to start my journey thru' USA.
