The Jazz Restaurant
I love looking over the balcony while waiting to meet my friends. The food is good too.
Amsterdam to Nairobi
I like Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam. I was smart enough to ask about clearing customs to go have a smoke outside the airport and the flight attendant told me they have a smoking room in the airport. Even told me how to find it! Three hours wait, then flight to Nairobi. Cold again, thankful for the jacket. The lady beside me on the plane had a blanket and she snuggled under it for the whole flight. The lady beside her had a mobile phone/ipod that she watched a movie on. I think that's what I'll do next time.
Arrived a bit early in Nairobi, and I was the first one (in economy) off the plane. As soon as I got off I was met by Jackie’s boss, who accompanied me through customs/immigration. Disappointed my suitcase had to be almost the last one out as I was very impatient to meet Jackie and Emma. Emma's husband drove Jackie home to Dandora and we went back to Langata - total exhaustion. Dandora is almost as far away from the airport you can get, while still in Nairobi, while Langata is practically next door.

View of Moi Ave
Taken from the Jazz Restaurant. Moi Ave is very busy.
lazy day. Slept for three hours in the afternoon and then a trip to the local cyber cafe to email everyone and grab a bottle of coke at the Mobile station.
Tuesday September 15
Emma and I took a matatu downtown to meet with Jackie at the Jazz Restaruant on Moi Ave. I do like that restaurant - with it's outdoor 2nd floor balcony, from which you can see Jackie's office. Still a bit jet lagged and not up to bouncing around town yet. Perhaps tomorrow.
