TRIERentrance to the shopping street
Last Thursday we went to Nancy, France for a school trip. The city was really cool. The entrance was all gold lampposts and decor. The walking tour was really cold, but it was interesting to see all of the arcitecture. It was really cold so when we got the chance to go in banks and see the design we all took up the tour guide on the offer. After the tour we had 30 minutes to walk around...that didn't give us enough time to get back to the part of town with all of the shops so we picked up a warm waffle wiht sucra (sugar). It was so good...it went down like a hot KrispyKreme doughnut. But then we had a few minutes and it was cold so Emily and I decided to walk around the tourist office because it was warm. We met this guy who creates boxes with "rooms" in them with wooden pieces. Like he had a hat shop and dentist office. They were cool, but I practiced my French with him. And then this past weekend we decided to stay around Luxembourg and travel around the sites here. Friday our family ended up buying us dinner
TRIERthe car we rode in to Trier...Mandy's boyfriends car
and we all ate and hung around and watched a movie. It was Nikita. It was a little intense, about a women assasin. It was in French so we listened to it in translated English, which was pretty entertaining in itself. Mandy, our host sister, got a new dog last week so she had to stay in and hang with the puppy. It is a yorkie and only 1 kg, it's so little. Saturday Mandy and her boyfriend, Christian, took Emily and I to Trier, Germany to go shopping. It was a really pretty town. There were a lot of historic buildings and lots of fun stores. To everyone's surprise I did not even buy anything. Though there were some fun shoes, jewelry and clothes. Then when we got back from Trier we went to the city and met up with some friends from school and hung out. Sunday we got up and went to Vianden, Luxembourg to visit the castle. The castle was really pretty. It was very cold though, when we got off the bus we arrived to snow, ice and rain. It has been raining for the past three days. Today we are back at school. I
can't wait for all of our other travels coming up. We still haven't finalized our plans for this weekend, but we might go to Cologne, Germany or Brussels or Strasburg, France. Today were back at school. I have a five hour break on Mondays so I'm just hanging out in the student lounge right now. There has been someone accross from me playing the guitar for an hour...as nice as it is, an hour is quite a long time! haha I have a French quiz this week, so I have to start brushing up on the few words I know. I practice on the train and so the locals always laugh! I guess if I can provide someone with my entertainment of terrible French that is good! I will talk to you guys soon!
