After 2 hours of me driving, we finally entered the city of Luxembourg. It was raining and grey and of course I was the only one with an umbrella or a jacket, but since it didn't rain too hard it didn't put our jouney in danger. In the city, I intended to park in a yellow or violet zone, because I read on the internet that it's cheapest. Other parking spaces are 1,50Euro+. Good idea but hard to realize..The city doesn't have many traffic lights, and the only thing that saved me from completely getting lost is that the other drivers were nice enough to let me through. Since the city is on hills, and its always going up and down, I had a few burn outs and we already started to wonder if we still would have any tires when we arrived. But arrive where? I didn't want to park at the expensive parking spaces so I drove to the Europe center, and there under the bridge "Ponte Grande-Duchesse Charlotte" I saw many cars parking just at the side of a road. And so did I.
Alright, so now we went sightseeing, saw quite everything and had a few
drinks. Since I was the driver, I of course didn't..But there was no night life at all. No big surprise, since there wasn't big day life either. Everyone was bored and there was nothing exciting except for the sights of the city.
At 23:00 we went back to the car, and I couldn't see even one car parking where 100 cars were parking ealier. I was already afraid that my car got towed off by the police, and since it was behind the corner I couldn't see it on my whole way until I stood 20m in front of it. And there it was, the only car that was still there.Puhh..I almost got a heart attack.
Since the city lies on hills, you can look on it from above from bridges, and it's indeed beautiful.
But now that I've been there I don't think I will return there again. I did enjoy the sights once, but that's enough.
