This is only my small observation concerning formal leadership. Working for AIESEC in the last 4 years was the greatest experience that i have had, but during the last year i met some very interesting situations in conferences that i have been and i would like to stop on one.
In October i had a short notice (3 hours before) training on leadership, now what happened is that i had a room with 80 various people from 9-10 countries but all connected by AIESEC, most of them with leadership positions in the organization. The actual training was more about identifying leadership style in ordinary people, but the biggest shock was when i took the expectations and realized that MOST of them had no idea about what leadership is and how you work with it and they expected me to teach them how to be leaders...
Now, most of the people would block in this situation....and i did the same...it was not because i was not prepared it was more because i didn't knew where to start with them from. We started a discussion where people tried to define Leadership...and besides a few that had ideas, i got
answers like "i don't need leadership, i know how to manipulate" or "leadership is the art of manipulation" or even worst...."They never told us this" or "You were supposed to tell us"
I might be ignorant but if you have a leadership position especially in AIESEC i think INITIATIVE should be the first thing that you need...do you really have to wait one-two years for a trainer to tell you what leadership is??? or to tell you what to do??
Now i know that this not a very good way to promote AIESEC, but maybe we should think more about the way we create our next generation of leaders...
For me it was a good feedback regarding my preparation on the training and what i need to do with those people, but what i didn't liked was that people were more concerned about my training skills....than the subject

Miss u!
good to read your blog again, i`ll probably gonna update mine soon. It`s quite sad what u`r writing and can hardly beleive it, to be honest. Coz @ is mainly about leadership and leaders not to know what leadership is ...that gives u a lot to be concerned about... but u didn`t quite finish your thoughts on that one, go on, I wanna know how it ends.
