Alps
Flying over the Alps!
Greatings from Roma!! I've only been here about a day but I think I'm in love already. :) It's so gorgeous! We got into the airport around 5 30 last night and then took a bus to our hostel with a group of German students who, it turned out, knew every word to Boom Boom Pow by the Black Eyed Peas. Kinda makes a case for the arts transcending language and culture. The hostel was kind of cute, set up like a camp ground with little cabins for people to stay in. After we settled in we found a cool bar area with hamocks and pillows, a dance floor and a hot tub. I think sipping pina coladas in hamocks may be one of my new favorite things. :) After that we found some delicious pizza--our first truely italian moment! Yum! We crashed soon after that, exhausted from 2 days of travel.
This morning we got up and made reservations for a taxi to take us to our flats. It was about an hour from our hostel to the flats. Italians are CRAZY drivers. I thought that I might die. Haha, but we made it safe and sound and it

Roma 009
Rome from the plane!
was a fantastic way to see the city for the first time. At one point we turned the corner and there was the Colloseum!! That really started to make the whole thing seem a little bit more real. Rome is beautiful!
Our flats are really nice, a lot bigger than we were expecting. For the four of us we have 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, a living room area and 2 terraces. We also have internet access, which is kinda sweet. After we settied in a bit a group of us walked down to a little grocery store to buy some essencials for the first couple of days. I think it will become a frequented spot because it's super cheap and really convinient.
Now we're just settling in some more and waiting to go out with some people in our group. So far, Rome has been an excellent experience. More to come!!
Ciao!
