Joel and the lolly
given to him by one of the girls! Oh which reminds me, I think its pathetic, they have toilets on the bus for emergencies but they DO NOT LET YOU USE THEM! Felt sorry for one of the poor girls, had to plead to stop the bus just so the toilet could be used as they wouldn't open the one on the bus. How embarrassing for her and pathetic of them!!! Ok, I admit looking to write bits and peices for this day, I did have to refer back to my photos! Shocking isn't it. My memory of the day has disolved. We were on the bus for quite alot of the day, and I'm not sure the scenery was that crash hot out of the bus. Hmmmmm
The lunch stop I remember because it was yet another bus stop on the side of the road. This time we went for pasta, and seriously Italy and pasta is just stunning! This petrol station stop was also pretty cool for all the little christmas goods on sale in the way of stockings and lollies. I ended up buying some nougart (?) cos I love the stuff, and my son doesn't - yah more for me!
We eventually arrived in Florence in the afternoon and were dragged off to a leather goods shop. For yet another sales pitch talk. I probably should have listened, because I didn't pick up a map of the city and we ended up getting lost! That was a total blast, but not too scary. I can say that, because we were suppose to meet back in a
lunch
basil pasta for me, some type of tomato for joel set square at either 4 or 5pm. It was after that, that we did a tour of the city.
Wandering the city of Florence was amazing! The amount of art work everywhere stunning! We ended up getting lost and seeing the most amazing church and luckily with my camera we approached police and I asked how to get back to the square in my photo. We were told to go off in one direction to find it. After ages, we gave up and asked another person, who sent us back in the other direction. Getting exasperated as the tour was to be leaving in around 10 minutes, I finally asked one of the little stall men where on earth the square was, almost pleading with him to hold my hand and walk us there, he assured me, walk back down the street in front of us, and we would find it. Sure enough it was there.
We must have been seriously unfortunate to zig zag back and forth in a line just over from the stupid square! Anyway it was raining and could be classed as fun, running around a city that was turning dark lost! So we
made it back to the tour. The funny thing was, when we went on the walk, I think we followed one of the paths we had been racing along and then saw everything we had already discovered. It did suck doing the tour when it was dark, as photos really couldn't be taken too well. However it did then allow me to know that I had taken a photo of Michelanglos David (yah!) and put names to some of those works I had photographed.
The meal at the hotel later that night was nice and so was the service, so ended up being a reasonable day.
