today was .... hot

so...today's main activity was definitely SWEATING!!! it is incredibly hot here with no relief at night either. the thermoniter in our room reads 30 degrees CELCIUS the entire time. allie and i are considering pooling for AC which we can get at night for a certain price from papa germano! they also gave us a great gift of a bottle of wine last night...how kind of them!!
last night we had dinner in a really nice restaurant down the street. i had spagetti carbonara and it was delisihous!! we went straight to bed when we got back but during the night someone was banging on a door for about an hour. at first i thought it was funny bc this person was obviously drunk and had locked themselves outside of the room but after awhile it just got really annoying. i managed to drift in and out of sleep though.
this morning we had a pleasant breakfast, i had to use the bathroom and the man who works here was teasing me when he said he wouldnt give me more toilet paper. hes rreally funny, when we first arrived yesterday evening he said he wouldnt let us in, he was sitting on the front stoop. after breakfast we went to the termini to make reservations for our trains only to be told that to make reservations we would need to pay an extra 15 euros to take the fast train adn that the local train to florence wouldnt need a reservation. however we did get our tickets validified. we took the metro from tehre to the collesium which was quite a specticle to see when stepping out of the metro station. we walked around though to pantheon hill where i got a free ticket (thank you mother) bc i was a eu citizen under hte age of 18. so off we went to explore these ruins which we found out were basically rich peoples houses. one man had even built a covered sports stadium, teh ultimate entertainment of the era, another man had a mini island which a huge tree on top. it was quite amazing.

we walked around seeking shade for awhile and then headed toward the collesium but i got distracted by some nice looking collums. so we wandered that way adn then finally went to the collesium (yes i know this is the incorrect spelling) we walked up to teh top ring you can go to and did a complete loop. it was really amazing to see the work taht they did and we were all very impressed. i myself liked the two boys playing nintendo ds the best =P. we wandered around until we had seen most of what we wanted to and then decided to walk to the pantheon. on our way we bought some fruit. i mujnched on a plum and some coconut. the pantheon was really amazing esp the light. after that i guided us to the fountain de trevi which was packed but really beautiful. we grabbed some gellato and then allie and i decided tograb a bus back to the hotel while tat wanted to goa nd see another foundain. we met back and then i took a long and cold shower which was very refreshing but i', back to sweating again!! how fun it is to be hot...oh well

all in all a good day so far...looks like some shopping and dinner to look forward to
