It's about 7:30 am right now, and I [Jess] couldn't sleep so I made Sean get up. Thought we would add a few more details before we headed out today. We went out last night at about 8:30pm and just sort of wandered around. We grabbed some gelato *woooo*, Jess had coconut and Sean had strawberry. SOOOO GOOD. It was kind of confusing to order though, because everything here is in Italian. Then we walked down a couple main streets, where we soon realized that Rome possibly has the worlds worst driving record. Sean was in heaven though, because almost everyone here drives a scooter or a really sweet compact.
We decided to head down to see the Colosseum at night, since it was the closest thing to our hostel, and it was awesome. They light it up perfectly at night, it's really something else. We were both in awe of just how big it is. It's sort of eerie to look at at night because it's all in ruins and you can just sort of see into it. We tried to take a few night photos, but realized that was easier said then done. There were tons of people
everywhere, and traffic was insane. Seriously, if you want to cross the street it seems that you just have to make a run for it. After we were done gawking at the Colosseum, we took a very small peek at the Roman Forum in the distance, and decided that we would save it for daylight because it was getting kind of chilly. As we were walking back to our hostel, we grabbed some pizza... Italian pizza is wierd. We went in and everything was in squares, but there was no cheese! We picked one with chili pepper seeds on it *spicy*, but it's literally just dough and sauce. It was sooooo good though. We could definitely get used to eating this kind of food every day!
After pizza we made our way back to the hostel and decided to call it a night so that we could get an early start the next day. So here we are, 7:30 in the morning and it seems that everyone in our dorm other than us has decided to sleep in. We aren't exactly sure what we are going to do today, most likely just check out some of the free tourist
attractions ie: Forum, Trevi Fountain etc.
It's really awesome here, Mom you guys need to visit Rome this fall. Trust us.
Love you all,
Ciao
DwarfedSean is looking kind of short in comparison to the very very large Pantheon column

ADVICE: Lemon gelato is the best flavour of gelato in the world and you need to eat some, pronto.
It's nice to see that you two got there safely and I assume that your luggage arrived with you also... judging by the change of clothes. I just want to know one thing... does the Big Mac in Italy taste the same as it does back home? :)
