Venezia

The overnight train from Hungary was an experience. It was strange how the compartment just turned into 6 beds.

When we arrived the view from the front of the station was incredible! It is so strange to see water, instead of roads.

We checked into our hotel then went out for an explore around the islands. The little alleys are were trickey as to negotiate but its fun getting lost there. When we got to San Marcos square it was cool because i recognised it from movies like The Italian Job and Just Married etc etc. However the abundance of tourists was very unfortunate.

Having dinner is Venice is when i fully realised how expensive western europe is! A cheap dinner for 4 was well over 100aud!! Its rediculous. You could eat like a kïng for that back home. I managed to find some cool as gold dog tag things for my necklace which is great because they will serve as a memento for my time in Venice and in europe.

San Marcos basillica was amazing. As was the entire square. We also went to the Acadamy which is a huge art gallery with works up to 600 years old!

So after 2 scorching hot days in Venice, it was off to Rome.
