Well here we are blogging late again.......it is so hard now we are home to keep up with this writing but we really want to keep blogging!!! So apologies for the confusion in random blogs dated a while ago.......
The NZ Jones family came over to visit for Easter, which was fab! We enjoyed every minute of the time we spent with them here, even though it was a little strange to start with as we felt like we should have been ging back to NZ with them!! Anyway for those of you that don't know A Jones family member by the name of cousin Caroline made it to Italy and has settled there and now has a lovely family in a small town about an hour from Venice. The NZ clan went over to visit and we followed for a week and took Aunty Joan along for the ride!
We once again arrived into Milan on the cheapest flight I think we will ever buy at 2p return from Liverpool to Milan Bergamo.......yes that is including taxes, what a bargain!!!! We hired a car and drove the 3 hour journey to Fregona. We arrived early hours of the
morning to Caroline with Oli her 18month old son who is a little 'monster' and doesn't like to sleep bless him. Ste and I went to sleep in the kids room where Gabrielle, Rory and Tara were all sleeping........3 hours later and I awoke to 3 little faces looking at me, that was it i was up!!! The children were so excited to have us there and it was lovely to be there!
We spent the NZ clan's last day in Italy with them searching for the last remainder of snow that was left on the mountains. The scenery is so pretty there hill sides covered with Grape vines. We had an upseting goodbye at the airport as they headed back to the UK before flying back to NZ.
Now..... the weather had been fine with clear sunny skies before we arrived, yep you have guessed what happened next we spent our week with grey rainy skies! It didn't however taint the scenery in any way just made it look more dramatic!
We took ourselves off on the rain to Venice one day, Aunty Joan buying a bright yellow umberalla as she was worried about her hair

in the rain! The train ride was pleasant and not too expensive. Venice was everything I imagined it to be, little higglety pigglety houses along water ways full of gondlas! It wasn't the best of days to go but we enjoyed it all the same, it is an excuse to go back in the summer!
Myself, ste and Aunty Joan loved the week we spent with everybody, it was great to meet Carolines husband Gian and see the kids Gabrielle, Luca and Oli! From wine tasting to going to a party on the hillside where we met lots of nice of people and not to mention the little cakes and fizzy local wine Preseco that is far too easy to drink! I love the Itlaian culture, food and people..........and appreciate the time that the family spent with us! Thank you.
