Ok, San Gimignano was really cool. We took a bus to the station then a train to a Poggibonsi then a bus to San Gimignano. Bit of an effort and it was about this time that we realised we should have based ourselves in Florence. Not to worry.

The bus dropped us off at the gates of the old walled city. We wandered around and nothing interesting happened. The city is beautiful though and puts Siena to shame.

Then we got the bus back to Poggibonsi and decided to eat before getting the train. The trains only came every hour and a half so we had half an hour to eat and get the next one. Otherwise we wouldnt have got back to the camp site till midnight. We ordered pasta at a cute little cafe/restaurant and it was possibly the best Carbonara we had ever had. We now had four minutes till the train came and started running, we made it to the platform just in time, the train departed 30sec later. Hooray.
