Well well well, blog blog blog.
Ok the blog should get going once again. Though to achieve this i will have to do brief summaries of whats been going on, instead of the more detailed account. Until i get to where we are and can remember enough to make it interesting.
Well Florence... This was so long ago... but Kell just came me the low down. I could barely remember.
We arrived in Florence in the morning and made our way on foot to our hostel. When we finally arrived we were turned around and sent back. The hostel has two locations apparently. Our host Francesco took us to his car and drove us to our apartment. The place was great. We shared the floor with 3 other rooms but we had free Internet and a kitchen to use. Not to mention a balcony, score.
Francesco was really helpful and a funny guy. He sorted us out with a map and advice, which was much appreciated.
The duomo in Florence really is amazing. All of Florence is beautiful. We wanted to go up the top of the duomo but the line was like a million people
deep (every time we went) so we gave it a miss.
We checked out the Boboli Gardens on Don Burkes advice. But it was stinking hot and nothing to talk about. (Later we found out we had only seen a small portion of the gardens and that the rest is much better. But when its that hot you really dont care.)
The old enclosed bridge was spectacular, and tourists mill around it at night. They have stalls and bands playing on the bridge.
Our stay in Florence was great though maybe a bit short. We were there about 4 nights. Though we had planned to head to Siena and explore from there.
