Jen and I just got into Florence about 1 hour ago. We left Rome via train and took about a 1.5 train ride to Florence...and yes...once again got lost. These directions are KILLING me. Especially when it is 90+ degrees out and we are walking aimlessly around these cities with our luggage. (They just put on Alan Jackson in the internet cafe...sweet!) But, we made it. Today we are just going to walk around and RELAX. We have been going nonstop for one week now. For my birthday yesterday we went into the Colosseum and then toured Vatican City and the Sistine Chapel. It was a long day but amazing! We had yet another wonderful Italian dinner with some vino and ended up at an Irish pub for a beer (well, Jen got a smirnoff ice) and then off to get our gelato again!!!! We are so not eating good...but we figure we are walking around 6 miles a day so it is ok!!
Tomorrow we are going to tour the countryside of Tuscany and maybe do some wine tasting. We both love that movie "Under the Tuscan Sun" and are dying to explore Tuscany!!
Hope all is going well back home...we will be home in one week.
