We came down from switzerland through the Dolomites which was a spectacular train journey. We knew pretty much exactly when we crossed the border, because the buildings in Italy are much more run down, and the air is much smoggier than in Switzerland.

Our campground was situated on a hill overlooking the city and offered superb views like this one.

The camping pitches had been cut out of the side of the hill, so the ground was rock hard.

After just one day, we quickly realised that Italy wasn't as 'orderly' as other European countries, especially when it comes to driving and parking! So it was quite a suprise when we saw all these scooters perfectly lined up.
