Was hoping that my eye would have recovered overnight. Unfortunately it had not, so I had to cancel the excursion up Mount Etna and play hunt the hospital instead. There are lots and you have to have the right one, oh and follow the Italian instructions to get there. Anyway, after a morning of standing in queues I realised that I was more bored than in pain, so we continued with our journey. To make the most of the day, we caught the bus (the helpful lady at the hostel got all the details) to Catania War Cemetry. The driver said that the bus didn't go near and that it was a fast and dangerous road, not suitable for walking on. I didn't think he was going to help us further. He asked if it was my Grandfather trhat was there and I told him it was. After a bit he stopped the bus at the side of the road and pointed down to where I needed to go and said that the return bus would be in two hours. I had to climb over the barrier, down a steep embankment, then with Sera on my back, jump over a ditch (I do not know how we stayed out of it to be honest). It was a quiet, dusty concrete road that seemes to stretch out forever into the distance. I picked Sera up and began walking and thinking. Then, quite unexpectedly, after not long at all, through the hedges I saw the cemetry. It was kind of beautiful in its own way and very serene. We walked in and although it was a hot day, there was a soft breeze. We then started looking for the right grave. It took me a while to work out the numbering system, but when we did it was easy to locate. We spent over an hour and a half there and then went back to catch the bus. Later we realised that Sera had left her precious nanny hat there, but in some ways it seemes right.

I've got to go now as I'm running out of time on the Internet. I'll add pics and vids as soon as I can.
