After beeing in Belgium for a month it was about time to start travelling again (said my boss)
This time to Milan, expect for my last years holiday , a country I did not visit before.
As for the travel to , all went no so well, flying with SN Brussels Bflex and beeing cramped into a fully booked flight , on the 18th row...(usually that's economy class ??? ) I was glad the plane finally touched down so I could run out and stretch my legs...
After the exit the airport , we still needed to travel for about 50 minutes by train (Malpensa Express) towards Milan. We stayed in the Holiday Inn,altough the customer offices where next to it , the meetings where strangly enough in the city centre,so a daily taxi ride was needed.
Close by as a typical 'place to be' to lunch , in a kind of arched ceiling styled building(sorry forgot to ask the name)
The only time I could go out and try to get an impression was during lunch time , and the only thing i saw was one of Da Vinci's water locks (see pictures) in a not so good
shape.
In the evening we went to L'osteria del treno (Via S.Gregorio 46/48 -Milano), a real italian restaurant , without the modern age fuzz... the food was delicious , a real good place !
the second day we did not much more than travelling (starting at 14.00 )
and again a lot of wind ahead...
the Malpensa Express stopped for about 15 minutes somewhere halfway, the reason was announced but only in Italian ... once at the airport , with more than an hour before latest boarding time we decided to go directly to the check in, as for the four people in the Bflex row it should not take that long... wrong... 45 minutes needed the operator to get everybody (the 4 eople) check in ... that's really Be Flexible..at the time we got our tickets...boarding was already started, no shopping,no sigaret, no coffee, straight to the gate , in a rush..thank you SN BXXLS
anyway , I'd like to go back to see more of Milan , hopefully a longer period and less Rain.
Cheers,
Luc
