Well, I spent my remaining days of my italian trip in Finale Ligure, visiting yet again some of my relatives. I spent most of my time with Laura. She is one of the nicest person I've ever met! We got along great and I loved talking to her! The only thing is that I ate WAYYY too much! She made lasagna, minestrone, torta verde...Anyways, I went to the market on thursday morning with her...the market is along the beach and it is beautiful! Right now, there are few people remaining in this small town, but in the summer, it is a tourist attraction. People who can afford such summer villas, come and spend the summer in Finale Ligure. At night, I went for a walk with my cousin Alessandro. He's exactly my age, so it was nice to have someone to show me around! On friday, I visited the Finalborgo, which is the old part of town. Very nice and I love it even more during the christmas season. Well, on saturday morning, I went for a walk all the way to Viragotti (hopefully, I wrote it correctly) where famous people take their vacation to stay away from the crowd. I
went with Alessandro and Antonio, he is Laura's brother and he's really interesting to talk to as well. He spent a year in Montreal during the 70's so we talked a lot about Italy and Quebec in general. I had supper at his house and met his family. Sunday, Alessadro and I went to Genova...the palaces and the port are both breathtaking. Although some parts of this city is said to be dangerous, I really want to go back and spend more time in Genova. I loved the view and the palaces. I also visited the aquarium of Genova, which is said to be the biggest aquarium in Europe. Last but not least, I went to eat spaghetti ai frutti di mare on my last evening in Finale Ligure. I can write much more, however, the computer is slow and it is taking me one minute a sentence to write this blog!!!
I'm in Zurich right now and the differences between Switzerland and Italy are unbelievable! I'm really happy I made this long trip to Zurich because it is beautiful. I'm also happy that I had no problem with the language barrier as everyone I spoke to, spoke either
english or french! Also I was very happy to pay 2 swiss francs to go to the bathroom, because in Italy I never dared going! However, I will not go more than once a day because it gets expensive!! And why is it that men pay only 1SF?? Not fair! Anyways, I'll go back to eating my chocolates!
Bye bye!
