Ciao ciao
So before I dive into my Harry Potter adventure, I will quickly talk about the potluck Katie planned. She invited everyone we know, Italiani e Americani, over to her house on Thursday night for a potluck. Only about eight people showed up but it was quant and nice. Four of our new Italian girlfriends showed up and brought great food. Then four Americans showed up too. I frantically made apple pie and stuffed bell peppers. The Italians showed up as I was finishing, which intimidated me and brought back memories of cooking in my own kitchen everyday with Daniele and Alessandro, it was tramatic! Ha. So we all talked and hung out for a while. Two other Italians showed up later. We all hung out until about 12. It was a great night and great idea on Katie’s part, she wants to plan one for every week.
The next day, I went over to Katie’s again, ate some leftovers from her fridge then started our Harry Potter Marathon! We invited a bunch of people but it was only me, Katie and our friend Jenae for the bulk of it. We started from the beginning at about 12:30 and we ended after the 5th one 12 hours later. We didn’t even get to the 6th one. It was fun to watch them all and watch them grow up so fast. But I started to go crazy from sitting so long so I took a walk half way through, just to get more yarn to knit with.
I slept on Katie’s couch that night and came back home the next morning. I secretly wanted my roommates to think that I didn’t return the night before for other more exciting reasons. But they knew it was because of Harry and wouldn’t stop making fun of me, so I definitely got minus cool points. So that day, which was yesterday, Katie and I took the train into Rome to watch the 7th movie in the theater. Daniele, Denisa and her friends took the train with us to do other things in Rome. It was a fun ride with all of us together, out of the house for once. When we got to Rome, we parted ways and Katie and I walked around shopping and trying to find the theater. There was a line when we got there but luckily some of our American friends happened to be at the front of it and bought us tickets.
We got popcorn and got cozy in our seats. The theater, of mostly English speakers, went crazy when the movie started, it was very exciting! Afterwards Katie and I walked around Rome. This was the second time we visited Rome, this time it was cold and drizzly, but I loved the crispy air. We got back last night and told Alessandro and Ace all about it. Ace wanted to go with us but had work to do.
It was a very exciting two days of Harry Potter and I am sure I will never watch 5 movies in one day ever again!
Go watch it if you haven’t already!
Ciao Tutti
Baci baci
