Day 13 Rome

so we sorta slept in and started to walk to main tourist area of rome. we walked thru saint peters square and at 9:30am the line to get into the church was no lie a quarter mile long and what looked like about 2.5hrs. we strolled on thru checking out the river and some big castle just down from saint petes. looked at the pantheon, nice. walked to the piazza navona, nice. walked thru some goverment complexes with armed security. some protestors and then on to the spanish steps. hehehe, as we got to the top i saw a guy. i said to jenn, hey looks like a mugger. we finished our climb and from the top we saw that guy and 4 of his friends and damn if they were a pickpocket GROUP. one guy would go up and try to sell some sorta string thing, i dunno, and as the tourist we bite, and their attention drawn, his friend would come up and sneak in some bags... well never accomplished it but they tried hard and we watched them for 10min and yup for sure they were a pick pocket team, got a video. hehehe anyways, on to the trevi fountain. that was nice, small piazza its in. we thru a coin and then to get jenn mad.
well back in 1971 my dad was in rome at the forum. someone took a pic of him. we i wanted to duplicate it. well since i did not want to ask him exaclty where it was from, we walked around ALOT looking for it. we decided we had to pay to get into this forum area, found the spot according to the pic i brought. except where he took it over 3 decades ago, is closed off partially today, so i had to take it from the same angle just lower to the ground. so jenn took pics of me for about 20 min and she started getting mad so we quit, i got 3 close pics outta 60. woohoo. finished forum, then pizza for lunch!!!! then we toured the 'colosseo' that was great to actually see also. just sureal to witness. we then took metro B to rome termini then metro A back to vatican. we hung around in room and just chillaxed. got up and went to the same pizza place and got some pizza and beer and went back to the room. oh and hey, tv stations in italy are dirty!!! they got these stations where dirty ugly fat hookers dance around and take all their clothes off while the talk to you live on the phone, sometimes they let the caller audio in sometimes its on mute, pretty raunchy. we watched a bit. some of these stations were in arabic and all other languages. we dubbed them the 'pervert stations' .... then more sleep
